UK businesses unprepared for Brexit: survey

by host

Despite Brexit Day being only six months away, 62 percent of British firms have yet to carry out a Brexit risk assessment, according to a survey published Friday by the British Chambers of Commerce.

The survey of 2,500 firms across Britain also found 21 percent of companies would cut investment if the U.K. crashes out of the EU without a trade deal, 18 percent would cut recruitment, and one in five would move part or all of their business to the EU.

Larger firms were more likely to say they would cut investment as a result of a no-deal Brexit, with 28 percent of firms with more than 50 employees and 24 percent of those that export or import internationally indicating they would spend less.
