Hungary and fundamental rights: The Cashcow fights back

On 12 September, the European Parliament approved by 448 votes against 197 the report by Green MEP Judith Sargentini, calling for the sanction procedure provided for in Article 7 of the EU Treaty to be initiated against Viktor Orbán’s Government for breaching the fundamental principles of the Union, particularly regarding minorities, migrants, and freedom of information.
