Refugees stranded in Bosnia

by host

Several hundred homeless migrants and refugees who wanted to travel to the European Union – mostly Pakistanis and Afghans – are trapped under the snow near Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, after their camp was destroyed by fire in late December. Some of them have been relocated to heated tents, while several dozen have taken refuge in nearby forests, near the Croatian border.

The local authorities accuse the European Union of  passing on the responsibility to Bosnia. Meanwhile the EU, which aims at tightening its migration policy, has recently repeatedly called on Bosnian leaders to “take (their) responsibilities”.
