One more step towards the exit – VoxEurop (English)

On 13 January the House of Lords began examining the UK’s Withdrawal agreement from the European Union. House of Commons adopted it the previous week. Barring a last-minute surprise, nothing should now stand in the way of Brexit, scheduled for 31 January. A transitional period during which the EU and the UK must negotiate their future trade relations should then run until the end of the year: a real challenge, as this deadline is seen as too short in Brussels, while UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has rejected any extension.
