Prime minister Theresa May appointed Tracey Crouch on January 17, her minister for sport and civil society, to address issues connected to loneliness, a phenomenon affecting 9 million people in Britain. This appointment follows one of the main recommandations of a report issued by the Jo Cox Commission, named in honor of Jox Cox’s work, the Labour MEP who was murdered on June 16 by a right wing extremist during the referendum campaign on Brexit.
