The 10 November snap general election in Spain, the fourth in four years, was marked by the victory of outgoing prime minister Pedro Sánchez’s Socialist Party (PSOE), the collapse of the centrist Ciudadanos, and the breakthrough of the far-right Vox party. While it had only a handful of local elected representatives only a year ago, Vox is now the country’s third largest political force.

The PSOE and Unidas Podemos, which together have 155 seats out of 350 in the Congress of representatives, have announced they are forming a minority government.
