On July 16, Eurogroup finance ministers gave their approval to the new aid plan for Greece, which had been agreed upon by leaders of the eurozone after long negotiations on 13 July. On the 15th, the Greek parliament adopted the new austerity measures demanded by Athens’ partners in exchange for the plan, but a number of MPs from the party of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras voted against it, prompting a crisis for his parliamentary majority and a probable re-adjustment of his government.
